The story behind Folha

Two founders, one idea: your brand on paper, not plastic.

Monique · Co-founder, design and sales lead

Monique is the co-founder of Folha Packaging Co. and leads its design and sales. Working as an interior designer, personal organizer and interdisciplinary artist, she sees every space, and every package, as something that should be thoughtfully made and beautiful to use.

The idea behind Folha is hers: restaurants shouldn’t have to choose between a brand customers remember and a planet we can live on. Takeout and delivery still run on plastic, so she set out to replace it with paper, custom-printed with each restaurant’s own logo and artwork.

Monique designs the box art for each restaurant herself, then takes it door to door, sitting down with owners and chefs to show them what their brand looks like on paper, not plastic. Next, she is building a sales team to bring the same personal approach to more kitchens across South Florida.

“Folha” is Portuguese for both “leaf” and “sheet of paper.” For Monique, that one word says it all.

Patrick · Co-founder, operations, finance and technology

Patrick is Folha’s co-founder and runs operations, finance and technology: sourcing and production partners, pricing and quotes, and the systems that keep orders moving. Where Monique turns a restaurant’s brand into box art, Patrick makes sure the boxes arrive on time and the numbers make sense.

What we believe

  • Your packaging is part of your brand, so it should look like you.
  • Takeout should not depend on single-use plastic where paper works well.
  • Small restaurants deserve fast quotes, honest numbers and a real person to call.
